Captain America Triple Double -Bill

Cinema address: The O2, Peninsula Square, London, SE10 0DX
Screening type: 3D, Superscreen, VIP
Screen: 11
Number of people going: 1
Seat(s): E23

I only watched the first two movies in the triple bill.  I did not want to watch Civil war in 3D , I could have got tickets for the 2D showing at midnight but I was at the O2 and would have been difficult getting home.  The VIP box seats were free so I wanted to actually try it while I could. It was really nice, It had a table by the side , the superscreen was cool in that location, but I would not pay extra for it.  I would rather pay extra for the DBOX.

I brought my 2D glasses with me and switched between the 2d and 3d glasses when I got tired or felt like it.  I had a headache the morning after.

Watched this straight after work. I was good but the Location title cards annoyed me.  It was very good but there was something about Capt 2 that has the slight edge. Will watch it again with my friend.

107 Jurassic World 3D

I do not like 3D . I did not plan to watch any 3D now that I have the option to watch it “for free”  I mainly did not like it because I have t pay extra for no reason. .  However because the person I was with wanted that specific time  and screen I went with that.  I kinda don’t like the  Sky Superscreen because if the crappy echo sound.

I felt really weird watching it. I did not feel immersed.  I was feeling odd that day ,maybe because my college at work was murdered but now I blame 3D.

I may need to go again and re-watch it if I am in the mood.

1 Mr. Holmes

Friday 19th June at 17:40 – Screen 10 Row G Seat 10 – The O2

I got a scoop of  Jamocha almond fudge at Bakin Robins.  . I used my Black Card was unsure if it would work because if the possible transition.   Cost me £ 1.99. I went upstairs and ate it before I got into the screen.  The movie start time was at 17:40 but ate the ice cream  waited till 17:50 before I got it.   The flavour did not seem to be as good as last time.  There was a person at the top if the escalators checking tickets instead of the “doors” , so I did not have my card ready.

The movie was in screen 10 and when I went to look for by Row I could not see the letters, So I went to the other side where I was surprised to see the letters were lit up. I saw a few others struggle. I like that they are not varying the Cineworld adverts now.

I really liked the movie. I felt strange, I felt like I had watched this story before.  ( I think I might have heard that synopsis when the novel came out)  I found it interesting that there was movie version of Holmes in the movie itself.   McKellen looked so frail that I actually kept believing he was that old and that fragile even when I saw the sharp Mr Holmes in flashback. It was so cool seeing Holmes in his “prime”

The boy Roger  was an amazing performance also.   He didn’t do the child performer thing. If he were playing an older guy I would have believed that.

I loved the construction of the movie.  Like a good detective story all the pieces were in place to create to create the intricate puzzle.  A puzzle I did not know we were doing.   I suppose I should expected that when you have the ultimate detective.

74. Birdman Or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance

Sunday 18th January 2015  12:30 – Screen 5 Row G Seat 10 – The o2

Birdman-poster-4

Dark for a while, put me off the first  I thought  there might be errors in the projection.

I heard that this was an amazing movie and that it had so much to say and that it was presented as one single shot.  I know there is lots of symbolism and commentary and I pick up some, but I watched it thinking I had missed much of it.

Putting that aside It was a story that I was entertained by and interested in.

The movie was entertain enough it would have been better of the conclusion of the Smug storyline end in the previous movie.  It did make me want to watch LotR when I never really wanted again before.

I got two tickets for this it was free and my mum who has an unlim card might have wanted to go also I would have space next to me.

I bought the ticket way in advance. I feared that it would have sold out how ever it made it restricted me when getting other tickets.

The theatre was packed.

I had never seen Blade Runner I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

The visuals were great. I love the “culture” of the film.   The world was really interesting .

It was fine as a film. A lovely sci-fi movie.

63. Get on up

Friday 21st November at 17:00  West India Quay , Screen 7 Seat:  E10

get on up

The main reason why  I wanted to see this was because I heard the performance was great.  I agree.

When booking the seat I decided to seat closer to the screen. I tend to avoid that but decided to do it this time, I quite like it.  Seats uncomfortable  once again though . I think someone was sitting in the wrong seat but the person moved to my row.

Part way through the movie the lights turned on. This was rather distracting. I did not go out to tell anyone because I did not want to miss the movie.   I think someone went out to tell some one.

The movie had high energy great acting and musical  performances . I don’t know much about James so I think I may have missed some references. I didn’t know that James would be breaking the forth wall. It was great. I am not the first person to compare this to “Jersey Boys”   so I won’t mention that.  I like that it what slightly poetic.
