The movie was entertain enough it would have been better of the conclusion of the Smug storyline end in the previous movie.  It did make me want to watch LotR when I never really wanted again before.

58. Horns

Saturday 1st November at 15:30 –  Screen 1 – Seat Row – G6, G7 – The O2

I really enjoyed this.  I love the concept.  I saw this with mum but and she just found it weird.  I really like changes in tone.

What was quite interesting was that the first part of the movie reminded me off “Gone Girl” . The media attention on the victims partner and the group vigil.

I really loved the concept of Horns. I loved the idea so when people are near him the feel free to express their hidden secrets and desires.   Also kind of glad we had some male nudity as well instead of just female.

It just want to make you run.   It was quite intense.   It was entertaining  . The hook that really pulled me through was mystery. I was intrigued to know the reasons why  things were they way they were.  There was genuine danger which was cool .  There was an explanation however  by the end of the movie but  I don’t know how much of that is real.   The maze/wall felt substantial, like you could get squashed at any moment.  The threat felt real.   There were a few edge of your seat moments which was all fun.

I wondered if the boys would be (sexually ) aggressive towards the girl.

Hooray for ethic diversity if not for gender diversity.  I  really believed that the Asian  and Black characters would die. (why is there always just one girl)

For me it was worth watching on the big screen but I don’t think I would go watch it again.

I watched a review on Youtube by Comicbookgirl19 and she has a great perspective on the story.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suT0_35PFqI

46. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes – again

Tuesday 19th August 2014 – 11:40 Screen 6 Row F Seat 12 apes   Experience

Had Ice Cream with a Brownie. I was really full after. The person behind us a few seats down had his feet in the seat in front of him. The theatre wasn’t very full but I like that. It got cold in the theatre but had my hoodie.

The Movie

I was kinda of avoiding watching it again even though it was excellent because the tension was tight but it wasn’t as bad this time. It was still so good. It held up the second time. The music must have been good because the first time I had not noticed it. I made a note to listen out for it this time. It was great and lovely. I had heard the main theme (?) at the Royal Albert Hall . Michael Giacchino the composer was conducting. Such a great movie. I wrote some more in my previous Apes post.

Went again with my friend. HAd no trouble with Allocated seating myself but the usual late comers and bright mobiles.   Oh Yes there was person that kept checking their phone which was distracting.

On the third watch I realised that the pink family was the family in the end of the film

See previous post for about  my experience watch the film the other two times.

The Screening Room:

Saw it again, this time with my mum. When I booked it online about 2 hours before the screening most of the seats were taken. The seats I picked were still great but most place would have been good. I was glad to be able to pre-book my seat online. I HATE that the counter sell food and tickets and now people have to pick seats. Thankfully I can Book EE/Orange Wednesday online now.

Two rows in front of us about 4 people had to move because they were in the wrong seat. I don’t know if it was just a mistake or they did it deliberately. They, moved behind us. Also the couple next to use was in the wrong seat and they movie a few seat to our right.

The steward was at the entrance but all she did was welcome people. When she could have helped she looked like she wanted to help then probably felt awkward and Couldn’t/didn’t assistant.

After the movie we went down a floor for the toilets since they are less busy at the end of film.

The Movie

My experience of the movie was more fun this time round (See previous for last time ) . I was more relaxed and I knew what was coming.

I think even if the film was rubbish I would have waited till the end to see the Pre – credit stinger ( BAby Groot).

Last time I didn’t wait for the post credit scene . I had places to go and I could not be bothered but this time I did wait to see it. . Most of the people in the screening also waited till the end. I had heard what was in it so I knew that to expect. I was looking forward to seeing Howard the Duck. Maybe it was me but the credits did not seem to go on and on for this movie.

Watching the second time I followed the movie more in terms of the actual plot and motivations of the villain and the orb. The orb in the film was more of the MacGuffin and Really I think the plot is not important to me. I love a good plot in terms of the structure for the first time  but in terms of rewatch I Don’t care about the mysteries in general.

I think the prison section was the best section for me. Here they all interacted and got to work together for the first time.

I think I love Groot more and more now and Draxx is a solid laugh all the time.
