Great visuals but I am not sure I followed the narrative.   I was trying to figure out what was going on sometimes.

63. Get on up

Friday 21st November at 17:00  West India Quay , Screen 7 Seat:  E10

get on up

The main reason why  I wanted to see this was because I heard the performance was great.  I agree.

When booking the seat I decided to seat closer to the screen. I tend to avoid that but decided to do it this time, I quite like it.  Seats uncomfortable  once again though . I think someone was sitting in the wrong seat but the person moved to my row.

Part way through the movie the lights turned on. This was rather distracting. I did not go out to tell anyone because I did not want to miss the movie.   I think someone went out to tell some one.

The movie had high energy great acting and musical  performances . I don’t know much about James so I think I may have missed some references. I didn’t know that James would be breaking the forth wall. It was great. I am not the first person to compare this to “Jersey Boys”   so I won’t mention that.  I like that it what slightly poetic.

When I collected my ticket from the ATM I went to the escalator it seemed they were short of staff (or someone had to cover) because I had to show my tickets there and when I reached the screen there was no one there to look at my ticket,

Before the film ended the lights turned on.

This was such a great film.  There has been a great buzz about this film for a while and people have been raving about Jake.   People say that you could see the actor any more and he has such a transformation but I know the name Jake Gyllenhaal but I don’t really know him. I have seen him in Donnie Darko but Didn’t really remember him . So all I really saw was this obsessive  guy.  I had been seeing the trailer in front of a few films and really it was the trailer that really sold me to go see it.

I like how the Rene  Russo character was a reflection of  Louis (Jake) . On my favorite thing to see is when people have the fixed/fake smile or people that are really chipper, “The Brady Bunch Movie” or Glinda in “Wicked” when she is putting it on for the crowd or “Chicago” in “They Both reached for the gun”. Well this movie had a lot of that.

This film was such fun. I encouraged  many people to go see it.

55. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

tmnt

This had been out for a while in America so I have watched many reviews on this . There was some good reviews some bad but I was looking forward to it. I think I was quite excited about it.

The only Megan Fox  movies I have seen is Transformers.  So I was looking forward in seeing her. I have no ill feelings towards her. I didn’t think that she would be that bad.    I like the character of April and I really wanted more of Megan. I wanted her to be really good.

I really wanted to spend more time with the individual turtles.

Watching it I felt like I missed much of what was on screen. When I try to remember it seems like a blur.    Or like trying to move a sandcastle .

Great time all round. It was long movie but I was never bored.  In general  I love the plastered on smile, the fake smile. The too perfect performance. It is one of my favorite things and movie had some of that.

I love the exploration  of marriage, media and people.

I have been encouraging other to see this.
